Solar-Like Oscillations in a Massive Star
(2009)

Abstract :
Seismology of stars provides insight into the physical mechanismstaking place in their interior, with modes of oscillation probingdifferent layers. Low-amplitude acoustic oscillations excitedby turbulent convection were detected four decades ago in theSun and more recently in low-mass main-sequence stars. Usingdata gathered by the Convection Rotation and Planetary Transitsmission, we report here on the detection of solar-like oscillationsin a massive star, V1449 Aql, which is a known large-amplitude(ß Cephei) pulsator.
